MASTER'S PROGRAM IN COUPLE AND FAMILY THERAPY
Welcome to the Couple and Family Therapy Department
Master's Program
Details:
The master's degree in Family Therapy is a unique collaboration between Thomas Jefferson University and the Council for Relationships, one of the most respected couple and family therapy training programs in the country.
With the increasing stresses on families and the difficulties in maintaining healthy relationships in our society, the demand for couple and family therapists has grown dramatically in recent years.
According to the US Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the increasing demand will continue. Jefferson and CFR are working together to prepare qualified couple and family therapists to meet this demand.
Since the first class of students began the CFR/Thomas Jefferson University program in September 2007, they have been taught by faculty members who are highly experienced couple and family therapists and teachers. The faculty integrates their professional experience into the classroom discussions, to bring the curriculum to life. Students quickly gain their own experience with therapy. The first practicum begins just a few weeks into the first semester. A total of 500 hours of direct clinical experience is required for graduation, and practicum placement are available throughout the Philadelphia region.
I am glad that you are considering entering this field. Please contact the JCHP Admissions office for more information about this program. I hope to meet you soon.
