Dr. Poal attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Fulbright Scholar and received her doctorate in clinical psychology after completing her internship at Temple University Hospital. She worked as a staff psychologist at Moss Rehabilitation Hospital and as a consultant to several medical centers in the area. She has been in practice since 1990.
Dr. Poal is a member of the American Psychological Association and of the Philadelphia Society of Clinical Psychologists. She is trained in PAIRS, PREPARE/ENRICH and EMDR. Dr. Poal is bi-lingual (fluent in English and Spanish). She is one of the writers of the couples education curriculum "Matrimonios de Esperanza" for Hispanic couples and is currently involved in the development of a relationship education program for the Mayor's Office of Community Services of Philadelphia.
