Dr.
Charles Muorah is a member of the American Association of Marriage
and Family Therapy. His skills, knowledge, and diverse professional
experience and cultural background make him proficient in individual
therapy with young adults, men and women, as well as senior citizens.
He also specializes in sex, couple and family therapy. Dr. Muorah's
clinical excellence has grown through his work in a variety of
areas, including female adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
He has also helped men and women struggling to overcome trauma,
anxiety, depression, and abandonment issues from their family
of origin and other relationships; or issues resulting from transitions
in life, justice, forgiveness and quest for peace. He has successfully
worked with clergy, young couples struggling to establish emotion
and sexual intimacy in their relationship, older couples desiring
to reestablish their emotional and sexual intimacy, couples with
communication and anger problems, as well as couples and families
in crises related to addiction, affairs, divorce, parent-teenager
relationships or spirituality questions.
Dr. Muorah received his postgraduate training in individual, couple, family, psychotherapy and sex therapy at Council for Relationships. He is trained to work with veterans and their families. He holds the following degrees: Bachelor in Philosophy, Post Graduate Diploma in Education, Masters in Theology, Licentiate in Sacred Theology, and he has successfully defended his Doctorate in Sacred Theology. Dr. Muorah, a priest helping people to heal and experience totality of wellbeing was ordained a Catholic Priest in 1991 and he is an author and presenter on a variety of topics. His presentations include: "Exploring Emotional Needs in Pastoral Counseling", "Changes in the Human Life Cycle", "Establishing Emotional and Sexual Intimacy", "Moving beyond Trauma Using Emotional and Spiritual Resources" and "I'm Hurting: A Call to Heal."
