George James, Jr., LMFTGeorge James, Jr., is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works extensively with adolescent and adult men on various issues including defining manhood, career and work/life balance. He also specializes in helping couples improve the quality of their relationship, reconcile conflicts and overcome intense situations such as affairs, parenting struggles and loss of a loved one.

Mr. James is a nationally recognized speaker, workshop leader and lecturer on various topics. He has had over 350 speaking and media appearances in the past five years. His breadth of expertise includes a special emphasis on topics geared towards couples, men, athletes, actors/entertainers, college students and people of color.

Mr. James is devoted to working with people to help them improve their quality of life, to be involved in the healing of their wounds and enrichment of their relationships.

Mr. James has taught, presented, spoken and consulted with multiple businesses, organizations, universities and places of faith, including Eastern University, Northern Illinois University, Lincoln University, AOL Black Voices, Villanova University, NCAA Division 1 Basketball Teams, Cardone Industries, Bethany Baptist Church, Independence Blue Cross, Urban Philly and Philadelphia Mayor's Office of Community Service to name a few.

Mr. James' clinical expertise includes religion/spirituality concerns, affairs, sex therapy, improving communication in relationships, vulnerability, conflict, loss/grief and enhancing intimacy. He has worked extensively with men, athletes, actors/actresses, entertainers, substance abusers, high-risk adolescents, the incarcerated population individuals with various addictions, and couples and families from various ethnic, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Additionally, Mr. James has been a reoccurring expert guest on many TV and online programs including: It's Your Call with Lynn Doyle (an Emmy Award winning, issues-oriented talk show covering various topics with viewers from Maine to Florida); Comcast Network CN8; NBC10's 10! Show (News & Entertainment morning program on Philadelphia's NBC affiliate); CBS3; FOX29 AOL Black Voices and NBC10's (Philadelphia affiliates of CBS, FOX & NBC) evening news. In 2005, Mr. James appeared weekly on CN8's Morning Show, Your Morning (News & Entertainment morning program on the Comcast Network). Since 2004, Mr. James has appeared in over 100 television interviews. Mr. James has also been an expert guest on many Philadelphia radio stations including WURD 900 AM, WRNB 107.9 FM, WPHI 100.3 FM, WPPZ 103.9 FM, Detroit's WJR 760 AM and Chicago's WVON 1690 AM. Since 2006, he has appeared in more than 75 radio interviews.

Mr. James is trained in PREPARE/ENRICH, a premarital program, and in PREP, a divorce prevention and marriage enhancement curriculum. He is also trained as a PAIRS relationship mastery, skill-building counselor and a SOUL HEALING Couples in Crisis counselor. Mr. James teaches Anger Management and Couples Communication in the University City Office.

Mr. James attended Villanova University as a Presidential Scholar, and majored in Psychology and concentrated in Africana Studies. He received his Masters of Family Therapy degree from Drexel University. He is currently working on his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Immaculata University. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, American Public Health Association, American Association of Christian Counselors and the Philadelphia Association of Clinical Psychologists.
