Psychiatrist, Center City, Philadelphia, PA Office
215-552-8917

Joshua Green, MD, PhD Dr. Joshua Green is interested in the thoughtful integration of medication and psychotherapy in treating psychological distress. He believes in using medication in the service of psychological growth and balances the goal of symptom relief with the understanding that symptoms can convey meaningful psychological information. Dr. Green is available for individual psychotherapy with or without medication management, medication management for patients already in psychotherapy, and consultations. He is currently training in intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy, an approach that emphasizes the efficient identification of obstacles to emotional intimacy and the mobilization of each person's innate desire for emotional growth and connection (for a more detailed description, visit http://www.istdp.org.uk/). Dr. Green also uses hypnosis, guided visualization, and meditative techniques where appropriate for a patient's goals and needs.

Dr. Green completed his medical training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and his psychiatric residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he received awards for excellent care of psychiatric outpatients and for scholarly writing. He also has received a PhD in Neural Science from New York University where he studied auditory processing in the central nervous system.
