Kimberly Flemke, PhD

Dr.
Flemke specializes in treating couples. She was the 2006 and 2007
"Relationship Expert" for CN8's television show, "Your Morning,"
where she did a weekly segment addressing various relationship
issues, as well as TLC's reality show, "Surviving Motherhood."
She has also appeared on NBC's "TODAY" Show to discuss various
topics of emotional and mental health. In addition to being a
therapist, professor and regular media contributor, she is also
a sought-after speaker, working with for-profit and non-profit
organizations.
Dr. Flemke's areas of expertise include individual and couple work around areas of relationship, intimacy, sexuality, dysfunction, and treating past trauma. She has extensive training in dealing with trauma, and utilizes various methods such as EMDR and a variety of energy psychology techniques. She has published articles and book chapters and frequently provides workshops on trauma recovery, EMDR, sexual dysfunction, women's anger and rage, stress management, resilience, communication and intimate partner violence. Additional areas of interest include working with both heterosexual and gay couples on communication problems, sex therapy, physical and sexual abuse issues.
Dr. Flemke is an assistant professor at Drexel University in the Graduate Program in Couples and Family Therapy, where she works on the interdisciplinary research unit. Some graduate courses she teaches include: Sex Therapy and Sexual Dysfunction, Couple Therapy, Gender and Power in Couple and Family Therapy, Treating Trauma, Critical Theory, and Domestic Violence. Prior to teaching at Drexel University, Dr. Flemke worked as a Research Associate at the University of Pennsylvania, completing evaluation research for the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. She is also a member of the American Family Therapy Academy (AFTA).
