Staff Therapist, University City Office215-382-6680 ext. 3132
Dr.
Michael R. Bridges is a licensed psychologist and Co-Director
of Research for the Council for Relationships. He is also Director
of the newly formed Emotion and Psychotherapy Research Center
at CFR. Dr. Bridges received his doctorate in clinical psychology
from the University of Wyoming and completed his internship at
UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. Before coming to CFR, Dr. Bridges was
an associate professor and Director of the Psychological Services
Center at Temple University.
Dr. Bridges maintains a clinical practice for couples and individuals for issues related to depression, anxiety disorder, social phobia, couples caught in power struggles, and resolving grief and relational trauma. He is interested in working with people who are struggling with unresolved emotions related to hurtful relationships in their past such as divorce, betrayals in romantic relationships, or feelings that still linger from childhood related to abuse or neglect. These unresolved issues may later be revealed as difficulties with trust and intimacy, chronic resentment and mistrust, constantly brooding about the issues or even clinical depression. Dr. Bridges has written several professional journal articles and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
Dr. Bridges can be reached at 215-382-6680 ext. 3132 or at drmbridges11@verizon.net.
