Tasha Binet, MA, LPC

Tasha brings an integrative, collaborative approach to working with individuals, couples and families. She believes in the value of meeting clients where they are and joining with them as they walk through life's obstacles, challenges, and changes. She utilizes a strengths-based, solution focused approach which allows clients to identify and draw on their strengths in order for them to be to be better able to cope with difficult emotions, as well as identify and achieve their personal goals.
Tasha believes that emotions are connected to our most essential needs and utilizes the adaptive potential of emotions to help clients change problematic emotional states or unwanted self experiences. Clients are assisted with identifying, exploring and managing their emotional experiences.
Tasha has extensive experience in working with adults, couples and families, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic principles, attachment theory and structural family therapy.
Tasha's experience and areas of interest include anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, blended families, inter-cultural/interfaith couples, LGBTQ issues, managing intense emotions, infidelity, sex therapy and substance abuse.
Tasha is a licensed psychotherapist who received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Justice Studies from Montclair State University in Upper Montclair, NJ and a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and Applied Psychology from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. Currently, Tasha is pursuing a PhD in Human Sexuality from Widener University in Chester, PA. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Association for Sexuality Educators, Counselor and Therapists.
